"You see, the hospital gave up on her, we didn't. We carried on fighting for justice and she has proved the hospital wrong by showing all the things what they said she can't do--and is doing them. We will continue to fight for her all the way as we believe that under any circumstances you don't judge on an innocent childs life ."

Almost Three

We’re excited about Charlotte’s birthday this Saturday– our baby will be three years old! Here are a two more pictures– visiting with the puppy and an outing with daddy.

Darren is trying to get re-assessed so Charlotte can come home with him. And though her birthday will still be in the hospital, it is a happy day for all of us– a milestone they said she would never reach. We’ll try to share it with you through pictures here.

  2. She looks like she is definately making progress from the pictures. She seems so much more alert and interested in her environment than a year ago. I wish there as some sort of early eucation/intervention program she could be involved in. Children with severe disabilities like her in Edmonton have the oppertunity to attend an early education program from the age of three where they work with them to reach their maximum potential. For instance they may teach Charlotte how to use a switch to communicate her want for something or to make a choice between two or three toys, just little things that would give her more control over her environment. Even though she is developmentally younger in a lot a ways she still likely has the same desire for independence as most three year olds.

  4. As if they’re not putting your family through enough already!

Would you like folks to set up mirror sites so that it’s harder to shut you down? I’m an American living in Korea — how can they even find me to send me a court order to make me take down the Baby Charlotte content?

  5. Christina–
We would be grateful if people would do so; as we’re not entirely sure how safe we are even at this new site.
I’ve just put up more information on that on a subpage (here).
